This kind of low-impact use is something that we need to support! I use this honey for sweetening almost anything that I used to sweeten with sugar. For a 6 pack of Organic Honey this is a deal! I paid $8 for one bottle of organic honey the last time that I bought it. I decided to try this one because "rain forest" sounded unusual and also because it is labeled organic. This honey met my best expectations, it has very nice texture and aroma to it. For this price, I couldn't believe it, it does taste like a gourmet honey. I disagree with one of the previous comments. This honey's taste is NOT overbearing at all. Good quality honey should have a distinct flavor (that's what sets apart honeys coming from different areas and flower types) and that easily recognizable flavor is what is valued in each type of honey. I am a honey lover (I love it straight off the honey comb, off the spoon, on my bagel and in my tea) and am pretty particular about the honey I choose. I think that many of us are so accustomed to those cute little honey bears in the market with clover honey in them that we forget that there is an entire other world of "raw" organic and unprocessed honey. This honey however takes raw honey another step further. If you are accustomed to spun honey (thicker and cloudier in color) than you are closer to this honey. Typically honey bees go for the clovers or orange blossoms and you can taste the floral essence in the honey. I love honey that has a distinctive smell, whether it's flowery or grassy or... This smells clean, flowery and intense. I actually don't like honey that's too mild. If you add this in tea, you can still smell the honey. You'll also like it if you just add a spoonful in plain hot water. On top of all this, the raw honey is certified organic. Somehow, I feel safer using certified organic products without the added pesticides and whatnots. You'll also be helping the environment and the people who are working in these farms. A definite 5 star product! I actually used to buy this honey from Whole Foods Supermarket at a much more expensive price. In this book there is a recipe for Honey Almond Butter Spread that has raw almond butter as an ingredient. You mix the almond butter with honey and cardamom and use it as a dip for apples. It is one of the most delicious things I've ever tasted. So that is the reason I bought this almond butter and I love that it is all natural and creamy. I was worried that an almond butter would be rancid but this tasted really fresh and it has no preservative or any added anything. It is made out of raw almonds, that is it. If you're looking for a nut butter with unroasted nuts (better for you) and great taste, this is definitely one I'd recommend. Besides eating it by the spoonful, I suggest spreading it on apples, making a almond butter and banana sandwich (use sprouted grain bead) or mixing a spoonful into your hot oatmeal. These are all great options for a NUTritious, high protein meal or snack that will keep you satisfied for hours. I purchased some this week and I find it bear very little resemblance to Almond butter. When I opened the jar I smelled oil, vegetable oil, not almonds or any kind of nut. There was a very large amount of oil on the top (more than I have ever seen on Almond butter), stirring it was a lot more work than mixing Laura Scudder's Natural, I had to parcel it out into smaller containers and mix in stages. Once mixed it does not taste like Almond butter, it is still predominately oily. The ingredients do not acknowledge other added oils, but I would be willing to bet on it... I'd advise, try other brands, Trader Joe's for one, tastes and spreads like Almond butter. it only got one star because I can't give less...
